My favourite place

The one place in Kathmandu that I keep going back to again and again if Patan and Patan Durbar Square. No matter how many times you go, it is always different. Last time Bollywood came to add to the action. That visit was the 4th in a week with different visitors plus Tihar. Luckily I only have to pay the entry fee once a year, well as long as my visa lasts!!

Some photos that show the variety:
Bollywood music, bored dancers, reflectors and lots of attempts: Bollywood campe to Patan Durbar Square and its temples.
Hidden away in the backstreets are numerous little squares and courtyards dotted with temples and shrines
These water spouts, typical of those found throughout Patan and Kathmandu, are still the water supply source for many people. You can commonly see people collecting their water when visiting.
The Kumari: unlike the Kathmandu kumari, which can only be seen on rare occasions, the one in Patan is almost always there. Go in, get blessed with a tika, and leave a small donation.
Stuck in a sudden downpour, the road was awash. Had to plough through water up to my calves to get home.

Back to blogging . . .

After finally finishing my Masters, finally I think I have time to go back to blogging. I did briefly start another blog last year chronicling some of places I went and things I did. See the blog Nepal Year 2 to see this.

Lots has been happening so I'll give a brief sample.
